On arriving in Barcelona, Thierry Henry told Barça TV and www.fcbarcelona.cat: “It means a lot to come here and play with some of the best players in the world. It is incredible”.
The French striker arrived in Barcelona at 9 pm on a private jet. Barça vice-president Ferran
Soriano met him at the airport and took him to the Camp Nou where he was greeted by a crowd of
reporters. In declarations to Barça TV and the FC Barcelona website, Henry said: ” It means a
lot to come here and play with some of the best players in the world. It is incredible and I am
looking forward to playing in the Camp Nou and helping the team in every way I can. It is an honour
to be here and I am sure I will represent FC Barcelona the best I can”.
His reasons for signing
Henry has spoken to Catalan midfielder Cesc Fabregas about Barça and has a
good idea of what to expect: “Barça is more than a club. Everybody knows about Barça. The
most important thing that has made me come is the way Barça plays, the fans and the support they
give. Without good fans it is difficult to have a good team and viceversa. Their style of play is
very attractive and has attracted me”.
The presentation
Henry will be officially unveiled at a press conference in the Paris Room
of the Camp Nou and will then make his first public appearance on the Camp Nou pitch in the Barça
strip.
