Caution ahead of return leg
Anna Segura
The players agree that a draw was a satisfactory result against Sevilla but are taking nothing for granted in the return leg. They believe Sevilla is a “very dangerous opponent”.
There’s plenty of respect in the Barça camp for this Sevilla side and nobody is relaxing
ahead of next week’s return leg despite the home advantage and a good result in the Sánchez
Pizjuan.
Here is a selection of the players’ post match comments:
Giovani dos Santos:
“It’s a valuable draw for us. It was a difficult match against a great opponent
and great players”.
“I felt good. I’m happy with the result”.
José Edmílson:
“It was a good result. The team fought hard and now
we have to see if we can qualify in the return leg”.
“I noticed the strain on my hamstring. I felt something in training on Monday. Tomorrow
we’ll see if it’s serious but I’ll try and be ready for Saturday”.
“I was feeling Ok on the pitch. My knee is perfect but it was a pity when I noticed the
strain”.
Carles Puyol:
“The important thing was our attitude. The team gave 100%, working and fighting. We
were up against a very dangerous opponent. We have to carry on working hard”.
“We have to carry on working hard, but I believe we played well today”.
“It’s a good result despite the fact that everything remains in the balance for
the home match”.
“Anything can happen in the return leg because we’re up against a great team.
It’ll be a difficult match at home but we’ll try and qualify”.
“We have the advantage of playing at home but we can’t be overconfident because
we’ll be up against a great team”.
Rafa Márquez:
“It’s quite a good result. The team made a big physical effort and that’s
worth a lot”.
“I know Henry well. Everything worked out perfectly in the goal”.
Víctor Valdés:
“We have to keep an eye on Sevilla. They’ve shown for some time that they can
beat us and make life difficult for us”.
