Henry: The key man in the cup

Thierry Henry became the most decisive player in the Copa del Rey for Barcelona when he took his tally to three in the competition with the winner against Villarreal on Thursday.
The Frenchman netted the only goal of the tie against the Yellow Submarine to set up a semi final
meeting with Valencia. Throughout the club's push towards the last four, Henry has been an key
figure as he has scored in three rounds. Before the goal against Villarreal, he scored the decisive
goal in the tie against Sevilla as well as hitting the target against Alcoyano.
Decisive efforts
The first goal that the former Arsenal player
netted in the cup came in the away game against Alcoyano in the Last 32 when Barça won 3-0. Henry
opened the team's account and set them on the path to victory.
Sevilla were the next team to be unable to stop
the Barça superstar as he latched on to a long pass from Rafa Márquez before putting Barça ahead in
the Sánchez Pizjuán against Sevilla. The game ended 1-1 and after a goalless second leg, that goal
gave the Blaugrana passage to the quarter finals. There, Villarreal were beaten by a single goal
from Henry over the 180 minutes.

goals in three different competitions. In the league has has scored six goals in 16 games, in the
Copa del Rey he has netted three times in five outings and the forward has also scored twice in
four Champions League matches.
