The 42-year-old began his playing career at Osasuna and was also given his first coaching role at the club. Pamplona is his home town, but he will be fondly remembered by Barça fans too.

Cruyff signed Goikoetxea in 1990/1991 from Real Sociedad to bolster the options on the right flank and during his four seasons at Camp Nou the player won eight trophies, including four league titles and the European Cup. After leaving Barcelona, Goikoetxea went on to play for Athletic Club and Yokohama Marinos before returning to Osasuna.
