Back to work
Jesús Carrillo/Anna Segura
The squad trained on Tuesday morning at La Masia after a day off on Monday. Rijkaard is missing the ten players that are away on international duty.
It was a small training session with many absentees, for not only were several players away with
their national sides, but Edmílson worked out on his own, as did Ronaldinho. The Brazilian took a
knock in the eye against Osasuna and the doctors decided it would be a better idea if he was to
miss the session.
And of course, Ezquerro, Jorquera and Puyol are still recovering from their respective
injuries.
Family feel
So the only human resources available were Sylvinho,
Gudjohnsen, Messi, Milito, Oleguer, and goalkeepers Valdés and Pinto. It started with the usual
warm-up and drills, although Sylvinho sat out part of this period to do specific exercises with his
fitness coach instead.
Circuit training
The players were then put through their paces by tackling a
physical circuit without the ball. The ball was added to the session later on, and Oleguer and
Sylvinho supplied crosses for Messi and Milito. The two goalkeepers joined in with this part of the
session, having been taken aside until then to work in the company of goalkeepers coach Juan Carlos
Unzué.
Gudjohnsen left the session early after suffering a minor injury to his right calf.
