Eto’o and Cameroon into final
www.fcbarcelona.cat
Cameroon are into the final of the African Cup of Nations after beating Ghana 1-0. Samuel Eto’o played the ninety minutes and his side meets Egypt in the final.
The game was decided in the second half after goalkeepers Kameni and Richard kept everything at bay
in the first. Newcastle player Geremi hit the Ghana side netting in the 37th minute in the best
chance of the half, while on the stroke of half time Abeyie failed to convert in a one on one with
Espanyol’s Kameni.
Ghana react but Cameroon score
The home side made a big push for it after the break, spurred on by a vociferous crowd. Agogo
and Essien looked clamed and composed as they caused constant trouble to the Cameroonian defence.
Ghana seemed the fitter side and a goal looked like coming any second.
But you can never write off Cameroon, a side that can move the ball up the pitch with
frightening speed, and that was the way they built up the move that led to the only goal of the
game. Ghana did all they could to snatch one back but Essien was marked out of the game and luck
just was not on their side. The home side crashed out at the semi final stage and it will be
Cameroon who play in Sunday’s final.
