Recovery session with reserve and youth players

Sandra Sarmiento/Roger Bogunyà

Back from Zaragoza and straight into training. That’s been the order of the day this Sunday morning for the first team in a light recovery session. Five players from other Barça sides took part as well.

The five consisted of three from Barça B and two from the under-18 A side. The Champions League ball was used at the session, as after the victory over Zaragoza on Saturday attention is turning to the European campaign. Manager Frank Rijkaard will be able to call on Zambrotta and Sylvinho who were given the green light by club doctors today, Sunday.

The session focussed on physical recovery and many of the starting XI from La Romareda (Puyol, Milito, Márquez, Henry, Abidal and Valdés) spent most of the time doing tempo runs with the fitness trainer.

Zambrotta and Sylvinho get green light

Zambrotta and Sylvinho also trained, having been cleared by club doctors today Sunday, and will be available for Frank Rijkaard for Wednesday’s match in Glasgow. The Italian had picked up a thigh strain playing for Italy in a friendly ten days ago, while the Brazilian also had a sore right leg.
