The FC Barcelona squad landed in Scotland at 13.00 (CET) and will train this afternoon at Celtic Park, the venue of Wednesday’s Champions League encounter.
Barça left El Prat at 10.30 in the morning on a flight to Glasgow, where
they have a second round Champions League match on Wednesday against Celtic. Charter flight HOA-015
took two and a half hours, and the players were taken straight from the airport to the hotel where
they will be staying.
The almost 200 passengers included about 80 fans that were welcomed by bright sunshine but
chilling temperatures of 0 degrees. A further group of Spanish fans was waiting at the airport.
The squad was also joined by directors Marc Ingla, Joan Boix, Albert Perrin and Jacint
Borras as well as technical secretary Txiki Begiristain.
Jorquera flies with team
Goalkeeper Albert Jorquera may be injured, but did not want to miss the
trip to Scotland. A few days ago he said “it is some time since I felt part of the group
dynamic and this is a special game, at a great ground, and I felt like making the journey.
”The player who was injured playing for Catalonia on December 29 then added that “I
feel fine. Everything is developing as we hoped. I am at the initial stages and two months after my
operation I have started working hard”.
He is still optimistic about his team’s chances of winning the league and said his
personal target is now “just to think about recovering and being ready for the
pre-season”.
