Iniesta: “Glasgow is water under the bridge”

Jesús Carrillo

Speaking after training on Thursday, Andrés Iniesta told reporters at the Camp Nou that Wednesday’s victory over Celtic had been Barça’s most complete match this season.

There’s an upbeat mood among the players, as Andrés Iniesta made very clear: “Because of the comeback, our performance, the standard of football and the result – yesterday’s match was one of the most complete games I can remember this season”.

A long way to go

The Cup is up next and we still have to ratify this result on 4th March (the return leg). I hope yesterday’s image continues and that we can play more games with the same good football”.

Barça and Madrid

210208entreno_x4x.jpgAsked whether things had changed between the two great rivals, Iniesta declined to make comparisons: “I don’t want to analyse the tendencies. We just want to carry on the same way because it’s non-stop with so many matches”.

No easy matches

Iniesta also commented on next Sunday’s match in the Camp Nou against La Liga’s bottom club Levante: “If we don’t work hard, then we’ll suffer. It’s true that Sunday’s match should be easy, especially from the perspective of yesterday’s result. But Glasgow is water under the bridge and now we must focus on Levante from today and until Sunday. Not taking Sunday’s match seriously would be a mistake”.

A change of habit
Iniesta also spoke about the new dynamic in the away matches and the fact of not returning to Barcelona after each match: “It doesn’t matter to me, since I can’t sleep after a match, either in a hotel or at home. The truth is that we have a quiet supper and some of lads rest better. But in the end, the two options are good”.
