Víctor Valdés is aware of the dangers of the next league opponent who “have been getting results lately.” The keeper feels Barça’s confidence has risen after a series of good wins.
After the fine display at Celtic Park, Barça’s attention returns to the league. This weekend
they face the bottom club, Levante, but Víctor Valdés, feels it is a game that requires the utmost
caution. “Levante will be motivated at the Camp Nou. They’ve been getting results
lately and have just had an important win against Osasuna” he said, before going on to
comment on the off-the-field problems going on down in Valencia at the moment, claiming
“Professionals always go onto the pitch to do as well as they can”.
Confident team
Valdés reflected on the club’s return to
form, commenting that “We have gained confidence from the recent results, they were
important. We have worked very hard since January. Things are getting better and Glasgow was not
the only evidence of that." He also added that he simply loves playing "even when it's just in
training."
No comparisons with Madrid
“The only calculations I will be making is
how many games we win. We should not take any notice of the leader because we have our own
commitments, and like theirs, they are not easy” said Víctor Valdés, who feels Madrid and
Barcelona have their own individual ways of playing. He thinks they can make up the points
difference at the top of table , but that things need to be taken “step by step”.

Not just about winning
Valdés did not want to speak about the second goal conceded against Celtic but just said that
“historically, at this club, you can win by four or six goals, but they will always look at
the goal you let in. When we win I’m happy, I don’t care what the score is. But when
you let a goal in, you have too study what happened on a personal level and also with the
defence”.
