Oleguer is back
Sandra Sarmiento/Anna Segura
Barça trained at La Masia this morning with the aim of putting Sunday’s defeat behind them as soon as possible. Oleguer was back and completed the whole session, while Henry and Deco didn’t appear.
Training this Monday morning saw the return of Oleguer Presas who completed the entire session with
his team mates. The Barça defender has been sidelined with a bone fracture in his left hand since
the League encounter with Seville and today he wore hand protection.
Deco and Henry missing
Henry stayed in the gym after having a bad night due to a headache,
while Deco didn’t appear after pulling out of the Villarreal game at the last minute with a
muscle twinge in his right calf sustained during the pre-match warm-up. Also absent were the
injured Ezquerro, Jorquera, Márquez and Messi
Seven reserve players (Oier, Fali, Urbano, Sergio Busquets, Guerra, Rueda and Eneko) trained
with the first team.
Light training for the starting XI
The players who started last night’s game had a shorter physical
recovery session. Eto'o and Zambrotta left first, to be followed by Touré, Abidal, Milito, Thuram
and Valdés after working out with fitness trainer Albert Roca.
Ronaldinho, Xavi and Iniesta took part in the close passing exercises before heading back to
the dressing room.
Circuits and game
The remaining players did a number of different circuits with the ball and afterwards
practiced long passes. They were then divided into two teams for a practice match.
