The Ivorian and the Italian, the latter who missed the game in Almeria through suspension, are among the seventeen players named in the squad for the cup match in Valencia. But Oleguer is out because he needs treatment on an injured finger.
Touré Yaya and Zambrotta are the main additions to the team for the second leg of the cup semi
final against Valencia.
But Ronaldinho, who is back training with the squad, and Ezquerro, who was given the medical
all-clear on Tuesday, have been omitted.
Oleguer hurts finger
Also injured, of course, are Messi, Deco,
Giovani, Márquez and Jorquera. Oleguer hurt the third metacarpian bone of his left hand in
training, a repetition of the same injury that recently required surgery and meant he missed a
month of football.
Training behind closed doors
Barça trained behind closed doors at the Camp Nou
in the final session before going to Valencia. This was the second consecutive session to be closed
to onlookers, for yesterday’s session in the Miniestadi was also a private one. Both sessions
have included the presence of some reserve players, namely Pedrito, Víctor Sánchez, Víctor Vázquez,
Eneko, Toribio and Fali.
