Gabriel Milito will definitely not be available for the Betis match due to the groin strain detected while with the Argentina squad. Meanwhile, Carles Puyol, who has been cleared of any ligament or bone damage to his ankle, remains doubtful.
Carles Puyol and Gabriel Milito have both returned from international duty with injury problems.
However, Club doctors confirmed on Thursday that Puyol has escaped any ligament or bone damage to
his right ankle though his presence in the game against Betis will depend on his progress during
the next couple of days.
Speaking to Barça TV on Thursday morning, Puyol expressed his desire to play at the weekend.
Milito out
As for central defender Gabriel Milito, the Club’s medical services told us: “The
tests carried out this afternoon confirm that the player has a groin strain as was detected while
away with the Argentine international team. The defender is unavailable for Saturday’s match
against Real Betis. Milito will have specific treatment so that he can be available to the coach
for next Tuesday’s Champions League match”.
