Rijkaard has picked all the first team players he can for the trip to Huelva. Messi is back from injury, but Henry and Bojan’s names have been added to that of Iniesta as absentees, while Barça B player Vázquez has won a place.
The Barça forward line is in trouble. On Wednesday both
Bojan and Henry started against Schalke 04, but neither will be in the side named on Friday to face
Recreativo de Huelva. The Catalan has sprained an isquiotibial muscle in his right leg, while the
Frenchman has suffered painful bruising in his right Achilles heel.
Messi, Ezquerro and Vázquez come in
Iniesta is also injured, so three new forwards have joined
the side, Messi, Ezquerro and Víctor Vázquez of Barça B. The Argentinian is back after a five week
absence caused by an injury against Celtic, while the player from La Rioja hasn’t been called
upon since the Betis game. Vázquez, meanwhile, has yet to make his league debut, something which
has already happened to Víctor Sánchez and Pedrito recently.
Normal training
The players that missed training on Thursday resumed normal activity on Friday, namely
Valdés, Abidal, Xavi, Zambrotta and Márquez, who have all been cleared to play against Huelva.
