www.fcbarcelona.cat
On Wednesday, the unity between players and fans will be crucial in the first leg against the English side.
Coinciding with the celebration of Sant Jordi, on Wednesday we have a world class sporting event.
Barça and Manchester United, two of the best teams in the world, face each other at Nou Camp in the
first leg of the Champions League semi-final. FC Barcelona is among the final four of
Europe’s top club competition for the tenth time in their history.
To face this important challenge, the first team players feature in a
campaign whose motto is ‘Tots units fem força’ (Together we are strong). The campaign
aims to get the fans behind their team, with the goal being a good result on Wednesday to take to
Old Trafford. Celebrations will begin earlier, but fans are being encouraged to be in the ground by
8 o’clock, when Barça will come on to warm up.
The campaign will include a radio jingle and a press advert, featuring Puyol, Eto’o,
Valdés and Messi.
Festival atmosphere
Along with
this campaign, the club will be creating a festival atmosphere in the stadium.
Coinciding with the celebration of Sant Jordi, 20,000 Catalan flags and 36,000 Barça flags
will be given out to spectators. As is tradition in big games, a mosaic will be created reading
‘Tots units fem força’. There will also be music outside the ground and large
inflatable figures at each goal. It promises to be another night of Barça magic.
