The football first team has been continuing with its build up to the first leg of its semi-final tie in the Champions League against Manchester United. Training today was at the Miniestadi behind closed doors.
This Monday morning Frank Rijkaard’s players trained at the Miniestadi in their one before
last session prior to Wednesday’s game with Manchester United. Barça trained behind closed
doors in the build-up to the first leg of the semi-finals of the Champions League.
No Henry, Thuram or Edmílson
Henry, Thuram and Edmílson were all missing from the session as were the
injured Ronaldinho and Jorquera. Henry still has a temperature which stopped him training this
Monday. Thuram was given the morning off by the club and is to train this afternoon, while Edmílson
stayed in the gym due to back problems.
The players began training as usual with a warm-up, though Gaby Milito spent the first few
minutes apart from the rest of the squad as he worked with a fitness coach.
Training on Tuesday
The Barça players will be training again this Tuesday at 7.30 pm. Prior
to that Rijkaard and Leo Messi will be at a press conference set for 6.45 pm. After the training
session, which will be open to the press for the first 15 minutes, the team will head off for their
pre-match hotel.
