Pinto debuts for Barça

Riazor was the stage for the debut of José Manuel Pinto with FC Barcelona. The Andalus allowed in two goals in his first appearrance as a Barça player.
Presented on the 18th of January and after 23 appearances as a substitute he made his first appearance with a Barça shirt in the Riazor. He played from the start in a game in which Barça came out without many of their usual starting eleven, either through suspension or because Rijkaard had given them a rest after many games in a row.

Barça’s number 13 didn’t have the dreamed of
debut, Barça having lost 2-0. But in the individual count Pinto completed a serious game under the
bars and took part on 26 occasions. The goalkeeper made three good stops and stopped five attacks
from the locals, whilst also knocking away three balls.
Second goalkeeper to debut
That of José Mnauel Pinto with Barça’s first team was the second debut of a goalkeeper this
season. The first was Oier Olazábal, who did it on the second of January this year against Alcoià,
in the return leg of the fourth round of the ‘King’s Cup’.
