Gaby Milito will be out for six months due to damage to the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee which was diagnosed after the Champions League game.
According to the club’s medical services, "after the game against Manchester United at Old
Trafford Gaby Milito reported discomfort in his right knee which called for a clinical exploration
and additional testing. The tests show that the player has damaged the anterior cruciate ligament
in his right knee."
Operation next week
The medical report also stated that “FC Barcelona’s medical services and Dr Ramon
Cugat have decided to perform arthroscopic surgery next week on the knee. After the arthroscopy it
will be possible to be more specific about how long the player will be unable to play for, which is
expected to be around six months."
Assuming that this is correct, the Argentinean defender, who this season has played in 42
official matches, will be able to return to action at the beginning of November.
