Sporting director, Txiki Begiristain said that Santi Ezquerro, Thiago Motta and Maxi López are three players who are in negotiations with other clubs and could be soon leaving FC Barcelona.
Reflecting on Santi Ezquerro's situation, Txiki recognised that Athletic Club Bilbao had made their
interest in taking him back to San mamés known. The 30-year-old has 12 months left on his current
contract at Camp Nou. "The player has some value and we will be working with them."
Motta and Maxi
Thiago Motta is another player that could be on his way out of the club this summer. "He is
the player that will receive plenty of offers," Txiki stated. "The question is whether we accept
one and move forward with it." The Italian-Brazilian midfielder has been advised to work in the
same manner as Giuly did. "If he does that, then he could move to an big club," the Barça director
continued before adding that he was impressed with Giuly's willingness to listen to offers.
Finally, Txiki focussed on Maxi López and said: "Clubs have called to ask about his
situation, but there have been no specific offers."
Everyone in for pre-season
Txiki Begiristain has announced that although several players could still leave FC Barcelona this
summer, the club will not be rushed into selling for the sake of it. In fact, he believes that
every player that is under contract will begin pre-season training, even if their departure is
being negotiated.
