“I’m really looking forward to it all getting started”

Thierry Henry went through his paces at the La Masia training grounds on Thursday morning and told us. “I’m really looking forward to it all getting started”.

Thierry Henry did some light jogging on Wednesday but today he combined this with some exercises with the ball. However, in an interview with Barça TV and www.fcbarcelona.cat, he revealed that he can’t wait for the real action to begin.

Feeling good

“I haven’t trained for some time. I felt good. I’m really looking forward to it all getting started”. As for the injury he picked up last March, he said: “I hope I’ve finally recovered”.

Change of climate

180707_2.jpgFormer Arsenal captain Henry has lived for the last seven or eight years in London, an experience he described as “extraordinary”. Obviously, the weather in Barcelona is very different but Henry denied that this would be a problem: “The weather didn’t stop me playing well with Arsenal so I don’t pay much attention to it”. His new home, Barcelona, reminds him of his early days as a professional with Monaco: “You can see the sea and it’s sunny”.

Taking it slowly

Thierry Henry hasn’t played a competitive match for about four months though he’s been doing some light training for the last ten days: “I hadn’t done anything for four months so you have to remember that I have to take it easy. I’ll need a bit more time than the rest because I’ve been sidelined for longer”.

”After four months without a game, I’ll have to get back into training bit by bit so that I can be fit as soon as possible”.

Abidal and Milito
Thierry Henry also spoke to us about two of the other new faces at the Club, Abidal and Milito. He described fellow countryman Abidal as “a person with an enormous heart who works hard and always gives 100%”.

He’s played against Argentine defender Milito: “He’s one of the best central defenders in the world...I think we have recruited one of the best left backs and one of the best central defenders in the world. Then here’s Puyol, Thuram, Oleguer...We’ll also help them defend when it’s necessary”.
