Alex Slmaond, the First Minister of Scotland, visited the FC Barcelona squad on Tuesday to watch them train as they continue pre-season preparations at St. Andrews.
During the Blaugrana's second training session a very special visitor oversaw proceedings as the
First Minister watched the players being put through their paces from the sidelines. Mr. Salmond
was there to witness a full size game between the sides made of the squad and the coaching staff.

Greeting Mr. Salmond was Barça director Josep
Cubells who explained what the plan for the season was and introduced the politician to the rest of
the assembled board members. Once the training session finished, all the players made their way
over to sign a team shirt that was presented to the First Minister as a gift from the club.
Mr. Salmond also had the chance to meet and
speak to many of the players and enjoyed shaking hands and saying a few words to each of them,
spending the longest time talking to Ronaldinho and Thierry Henry.
