Zambrotta has few tour worries
Berta Brau
Gianluca Zambrotta is not a big fan of long distance tours he stated ahead of FC Barcelona's trip to the Far East. "It is easy to prepare for a season in such distant places," he said.
The Italian international would have preferred to have continued training closer to home. "I think
it is better if we stay in Barcelona to prepare for next season," he explained. But with almost
three weeks between the end of the tour and the start of the season, Zambrotta is not unhappy. "It
is only for a week and then when we come back there are still plenty of days to be ready before the
league starts," he added.
A long way to go
Despite his slight misgivings about the amount of travelling involved in the trip to Asia,
Zambrotta admits that he has been pleased with the way that pre-season has been going up until now.
"We have worked very well," he said. "Things have gone well in Scotland and Barcelona.
Contrasting pre-seasons
Zambrotta was then asked to compare the pre-season preparations with last year and he cited
one main difference. "We are all here now," he stated. "Last year many of us were with our national
team. This season we have to take advantage and try and win as much as we can."
Fantastic four
Finally, the former Juve star considered whether Samuel Eto'o, Ronaldinho, Lionel Messi and
Thierry Henry could all play together. "If everyone runs for the team then we can play with four up
front, but that would mean everyone does have to run all the time."
