Puyol presence boosts training

Carles Puyol was a welcome addition to Monday’s training session - the first time he’s trained alongside the rest of the squad since his injury in June – and he is making good progress to a full recovery.
The club captain was out on La Masia training ground as part of his personal recovery programme and
although he didn’t work out with the rest of the squad - Puyol’s routine today was
basically jogging with his personal trainer - his presence gave a big fillip to the morning’s
proceedings. This was the first time he’d been in a
training session
with the rest of the squad, though he also worked out on the Nou Camp pitch recently.
Out since June
Carles Puyol damaged his left knee ligament in a friendly in South Africa on June 20th and
was later operated on by Dr Ramon Cugat , who only this last weekend, after giving a press
conference about
Samuel Eto’o injury
, commented that Puyol was “coming along fine –he’s doing a good job”.
