Gudjohnsen to return next week

Eidur Gudjohnsen is expect to get medical clearance next week. Following a successful recovery from his problems with his left knee.

The club medical services issued a statement today saying: “The player has followed a recovery plan since the start of the pre-season to overcome problems with his left knee. Gudjohnsen has continued the plan this week while he was away with his national side. Given his good progress, the Medical Services and the Iceland Football Federation have agreed that the player will be fit to play next week.”

Gudjohnsen will be staying with his national side, and may be named in the side to face Northern Ireland next Wednesday September 12.
