They’re all back!
Berta Brau / Vanessa Forns
Giovani, Ronaldinho, Márquez and Gudjohnsen, the international players that did not arrive back in time for Thursday’s training session, are back in Barcelona. All four players trained on Friday morning.
Frank Rijkaard now has his full quota of players to prepare for Sunday’s away game against
Osasuna. The four players that had not arrived in time for Thursday’s session reported for
training on Friday morning.
Giovani, Márquez and Ronaldinho are still pretty tired after the round trip to Boston in the
USA where they all played in a friendly between Mexico and Brazil and so followed a different
programme from the rest of the squad. However, Gudjohnsen was able to join in with the group.
While Messi, who is carrying a slight injury, and Giovani did some jogging, Ronaldinho and
Márquez stayed behind in the changing rooms for some physio treatment. Both Ronaldinho and Márquez
played the full 90 minutes in the Brazil v Mexico match.
Intense session in the Miniestadi
The rest of the squad started with some warm-up exercises,
the usual ball control work and then a few circuits of the pitch. After this they divided up into
groups of three to practise passing and ball control. They then did another, more physically
demanding circuit, focussing on changes of pace, shooting and sprinting.
Finally, they practised positioning on one third of the
pitch. The bulk of the squad then returned to the changing rooms while the goalkeepers remained
behind to practice goal kicks.
