Deco calls on players to find solutions
Roger Bogunyà
Barça failed to win in Pamplona. Deco, who started, said “we have to find solutions from within the team” and added that “on a playing level we were better than we were in Santander".
The Portuguese midfielder is aware that his team "created few chances" in Pamplona, but is
confident his side can get better.
Desire to improve
Deco made his ambition to see changes clear, saying "We always have to improve, even when we
win. We know that we can’t afford to drop points, but neither is it time for desperate
measures".
Asked about what it feels like to be trailing Real Madrid by four points so early on in the
season, the Portuguese player explained that "what matters is that we have to improve and we should
not over concern ourselves with Madrid, there’s a lot of league still to play."
Ronaldinho thinking of Lyon
Ronaldinho, meanwhile, said "we need to think about the next game” and believes there
is no need to worry too much about tonight’s draw. "After all the international games, it was
tough to have an away match and against a team that wanted to play on the counter attack".
With his Brazil games behind him and Lyon to come, Ronaldinho was not surprised he was taken
off for Xavi in the 65th minute. "It was the boss’ decision and there is a midweek game about
to come” he commented.
Laporta: "The draw was fair"
Joan Laporta, speaking after the tied game, said "A draw was a fair result. We had to fight hard,
because Osasuna is a team that tries hard and they never give up a single ball. That makes it hard
for us to play our way".
Asked about his side’s display, the Barça president explained that “they fought
and kept fighting and things are still being put into place … There is a lot of talent, but
also a lot of effort, and we saw that tonight. Now we need the midfielders to get forward more and
for the strikers to be more accurate, but things will come, this side has a lot of potential".
