Messi joins in training

The Barca squad were back in training this morning following the draw in Pamplona. It was a gentle session, with the players happy to welcome Messi back after the Argentinean missed the Osasuna game.

With Wednesday’s tie against Lyon on the immediate horizon, the players decided to put the disappointment of last night’s draw behind them and prepare for the opening of their Champions League campaign.

The whole squad turned out to train, with Messi, who missed the game in Pamplona as a precaution, joining in after working out on his own to start off with. Third choice keeper Oier Olazábal was the other new face in the session, whilst club captain Carles Puyol worked out on his own, as did Lilian Thuram, who did some stretching exercises with one of the club trainers.

Gentle work out

After some ball control work, the players did a series of sprints and running before the players who figured last night called it a day and the rest of the squad, with Marquez and Messi did some circuit training and shooting practice.
