Messi and Márquez in the squad

Frank Rijkaard has named the 18 players for the Champions league opener against Lyon. Messi and Márquez come into the side, while Gudjohnsen and Ezquerro miss out.
Messi, who didn’t travel to Pamplona as a precautionary measure, and the suspended Márquez, return to the Barça squad to take on Olympique at the Camp Nou. The players the manager has opted to drop are Gudjohnsen and Ezquerro.

Bojan Krkic has enjoyed his first ever call-up for European
action with Barça, as have Giovani dos Santos and Gabriel Milito. For all three, the game against
Lyon could provide their first tastes of Champions League football.
