Iniesta: "We are in great form"
Anna Segura
Andrés Iniesta is delighted that FC Barcelona improved even further in the victory against Real Zaragoza on Wednesday evening and believes that the team can continue to build on the good run of form.
All the Barça players were buoyed by the emphatic win as Frank Rijkaard's side chalked up their
third consecutive victory at home, having beaten Olympique Lyonnais and Sevilla in the past week at
Camp Nou.
Below is what some of the players had to say:
Andrés Iniesta:
"The team is in great form and winning gives you more confidence. We are maintaining our form
which is most important."
"I feel very good. When you feel like this everything works better."
"If we want to win trophies then we have to win our home games as well as the away ones."
Rafa Márquez:
"We have to carry this on and maintain our good run."
"The important thing is to finish games with a good taste in your mouth. The team kept up our
work in both halves."
"I have a good understanding with Milito, he is a great defender. Defensively I thought that
we played well and worked as a unit with Éric Abidal, Touré Yaya and Gianluca Zambrotta."
"Now we face Levante and we have to maintain our equilibirum and agressiveness."
Leo Messi:
"The team showed that we have continued playing as we did in
our last couple of games. We have enjoyed all of them. I only try and do well for the team and to
try and help."
"We did not start the season how we wanted to but we knew we could play like this."
Gaby Milito:
"It was a special game for me. I was very focussed on playing my best for the team. I enjoyed
the the match."
"Zaragoza are quite an offensive team, but generally we have controlled the game. We were
strong when it mattered."
"The three straight wins are important. They were against difficult opponents and were hard
games but we have played well."
Oleguer Presas:
"Slowly but surely the team is finding its rhythm. We have to continue working hard because
there is still a long way to go. The league has a long way to run."
"We have asked people to be patient. We have not yet reached our best, but if we continue to
play like that then the results will continue to come."
