Carles Puyol has been named in the Barça squad for the first time this season, while Raf Márquez and Gianluca Zambrotta are out through injury.
Three months after undergoing surgery, the Blaugrana captain is back and has been included in the
trip to Levante this weekend by coach Frank Rijkaard. The other new faces in the squad are Marc
Crosas and Eidur Gudjohnsen. The trio are included while Márquez and Zambrotta are out after
picking up knocks in midweek and Santi Ezquerro is omitted for technical reasons. Ronaldinho,
Samuel Eto'o and Edmílson are all still out with differing injuries too.
Márquez taking no risks
Márquez was unable to train in Camp Nou on Friday morning as the Mexican
international continued to feel pain in his right Achilles tendon after suffering the blow during
the victory against Real Zaragoza on Wednesday. The club's medical team advised the defender not to
train as a precautionary measure and also told the coach not to risk him at the weekend.
Ronaldinho continues comeback
Ronaldinho continued to train alone on the pitch in front of La Masia as he looks to overcome
a calf strain that has alreday seen him miss the games against Sevilla and Zaragoza.
