With the bulk of the squad now away on international duty, only seven players were present for today’s training session, in which most of the work was of a specific nature.
Sylvinho, Gudjohnsen, Valdés, Jorquera, Oleguer, Ezquerro and Edmílson were the only players
present for training at la Masia, the Camp Nou or in the gym. It was the last session of the week,
because Frank Rijkaard has opted to give his squad the weekend off. Both Deco and Giovani Dos
Santos reported to the club for treatment of their respective injuries.
Personal exercises
Sylvinho, Gudjohnsen, Jorquera and Valdés trained with the coaches at La Masia, although most
of what they did was individually programmed on the basis of their different positions.
Like on Thursday, Víctor Valdés and Albert Jorquera worked
hard with goalkeeping coach Juan Carlos Unzué. Sylvinho and Gudjohnsen, who had stayed in the gym
on Thursday, warmed up before tackling a circuit designed by the fitness specialists.
They then moved onto more specific circuits, with Sylvinho working on the left and Gudjohnsen
going down the middle, with each circuit ending with a shot on goal.
Shooting practice
The coaching staff joined the players for the next exercise, which was basically shooting
practice, with Víctor Valdés and Albert Jorquera doing nets.
Oleguer and Ezquerro in the gym
Oleguer Presas and Santi Ezquerro, who worked out at la Masia on Thursday, decided that today
they would prefer to tone their muscles in the gym.

Thursday, the Brazilian had trained at la Masia both with and without the ball.
