Internationals return to training

Many of the players called away on international duty were back in training on Thursday evening. The remainder should be available on Friday.

After a week of sparsely attended training sessions, the Barça squad was back to near full strength on Thursday evening. The session, which started at 6.30 pm, focussed on light recovery exercises, with many of the players having played less than 24 hours earlier.

Abidal, Touré and Ronnie still away

However, a number of players were missing this evening, including Eric Abidal, who has the permission of the Club to return tomorrow (Friday), Touré Yaya and Ronaldinho, who are still travelling back from Qatar and Brazil respectively. All three are expected back for Friday’s training session ahead of the match against Recreativo. Meanwhile, Deco, Edmílson and Giovani remained in the gym for individual treatment on their injury problems.

The session started with the usual ball control exercises followed by jogging. At this point the internationals returned to the dressing rooms. The remaining players practised combination play and shooting, finishing up with a practice match.
