Excitement in the Mini
Sandra Sarmiento/Roger Bogunyà
The Barça senior squad trained for just over an hour and a half on Thursday in the Miniestadi next to the Camp Nou in front of an enthusiastic crowd of onlookers. With the return of Gudjohnsen, just three players were missing.
The three missing players were Oleguer and Henry, who are still recovering from injury, plus Ivory
Coast midfielder Touré Yaya, who has a temperature. On the plus side, Eidur Gudjohnsen returned to
training after getting over a stomach bug.
Giovani, Deco and Edmílson
Giovani, Deco and Edmílson, who have still not been the
medical green light, trained as usual.
The session was intense with a definite emphasis on physical stamina work, an aspect that has
become commonplace over the last few days.
Two from the youth squads
On Wednesday, the senior players were joined in training by youth squad goalkeepers Jordi and
Rubén. Jordi was back again today accompanied by another keeper from the academy, Marc Martínez,
who is currently on loan to local side Cornellà. Both youngsters took an active apart in the
session.
Goals from Bojan
Towards the end of the session, Rijkaard divided his players
into four groups for a series of training matches. Bojan was very much the star of this part of the
session, scoring all four goals in his team’s win.
Márquez did not take part in the training matches and worked individually with one of the
fitness coaches.
