Thuram: “We’ve improved in our away games”
Anna Segura
Thuram believes the team can break their poor away record in the league, where they have not won since the game against Levante. However, he insists that Saturday’s match against Valencia will be “a great match” and that “winning will be difficult".
Lilian Thuram played the full 90 minutes against Stuttgart (3-1) and on Thursday spoke to reporters
to analyse the current state of the team. He is confidence Barça can get a good result against
Valencia: “Recently, we’ve improved in our away games. It’ll be a great game that
we can win”.
Recent comebacks
The comeback against Stuttgart was Barça’s second of the season,
both of them in the Camp Nou. Thuram, who yesterday partnered Milito in the centre of defence,
played down the importance of conceding the early goal and emphasised that the main thing was,
“finally winning the match”.
As far as the Champions League is concerned, Thuram has no preferences as to the opponent in
the last 16: “I’m not thinking of the opponent. The most important thing is our
team”.
Focus on Saturday
Lilian Thuram doesn’t want to talk about the Real Madrid clash,
which is coming up on the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd December: “Right now we have to talk
about Valencia. After that we’ll be able to talk about the match against Real Madrid”.
