Thierry Henry has played his 100th game for France and played a key role by being involved in the penalty incident that led to a 1-0 victory for Raymond Domènech against Colombia.

It was a special night for Thierry Henry. The Frenchman started the game at the Saint-Denis against Colombia, his 100th for Les Bleus. It was the Barça player who was brought down in the 23rd minute for a penalty converted by Ribéry, the only goal of the game. Henry came close to scoring in the 41st minute from a free kick before being replaced in the 76th minute by Anelka, having received a yellow card.

Top scorer for France

In 100 games, Henry has scored 44 goals, the most anybody has ever scored for France. He made his international debut on October 11, 1997, against South Africa (2-1), and has scored almost a goal every two games since.

Thuram and Abidal also play

Barcelona’s other two Gallic internationals, Abidal and Thuram, also played, but for the full 90 minute. Thuram holds the record for the most internationals for his country, an amazing 140 caps.

Iniesta misses match
Another of Barça’s Euro 2008 stars, Andrés Iniesta, will miss Wednesday’s friendly with the USA: He has gone down with a bout of gastroenteritis, but should be fine when the tournament starts in earnest on Saturday.
