Goalkeeper Albert Jorquera has announced this morning that he is staying with the club “until the end of the season or until my contract ends” as the coaching staff have reminded him of how important a member of the squad he is.
Albert Jorquera has told the media today that “I will stay at the club until the end of the
season or until my contract ends”.
The reasons
The player has said that he is mooting a move to “get more chances to play and gain in
confidence by playing more First Division matches.” Nevertheless, Jorquera explained how
“both Juan Carlos Unzué and the boss have told me how important it is for me to stay with the
team and have reminded me that they know me well and know that I do not need to play many games to
win their trust”.
Into competition
“It is the best ones who will play”, said Jorquera, who has yet to be told
exactly what role he will play in the side for the rest of the season. He admits that he has not
been given the chance to get any match practice after recovering from injury, and that “from
now on I have to compete”.
Future options
The keeper has no plan to rush into making any major decisions at this point of the season.
“I’ll have to think about it at the end of the season. Right now my mind is only on
Barça and there is a lot to do before then”.
