With Víctor Sánchez being declared fully fit on Tuesday, Josep Guardiola has a full squad available for the Copa del Rey clash with Espanyol. But the manager will not be revealing his squad until the day of the match.
The first team trained on Tuesday morning at the Ciudad Deportiva Joan Gamper, and Josep Guardiola had his full squad at his disposal, apart from Gaby Milito, who is out with a long-term injury.
Víctor Sánchez declared fit
Víctor Sánchez was declared fully fit after today’s
session behind closed doors. The player tore 0.5 cm of sartorial muscle in his right thigh while
training on January 7, but is now back to full fitness and is ready to play, if chosen, in the cup
derby.
Muscle building
Unlike the usual practice, the players did not start the session with the typical drills. Instead they tackled a fitness circuit that was designed to hone their muscles.
Plan for Wednesday
The team will train again on Wednesday at 12.00. This will take place behind closed doors in the
Camp Nou. The players will then have lunch in the stadium before being free to go home. About two
hours before the match they will be expected to report back to the Camp Nou and will travel
together to Montjuïc.
