Bojan: “Goals bring me confidence”
Anna Segura
Bojan was delighted with his performance tonight and feels scoring goals makes him feel more of a part of what the team is doing.
One of the big stars of tonight’s game with Espanyol was Bojan Krkic, who scored a brace of
goals to help his side on their way to the cup semi finals. The player said “it is important
for me to make the most of every chance the boss gives me … I am only 18, but I am at a great
club, and it’s an amazing situation I’m in right now and I have to feel proud to be
here”.
The player went on to say that “what makes me happy is that when I get to play I feel
part of what the team is doing. The two goals have calmed me and remind that I too am part of this
team”.
Sergio Busquets:
“Until Espanyol scored their second we felt fine.
Then we had to defend to avoid further suffering. But the important thing is that the team
qualified”.
“Every game is another world. It was a warning to us that winning 3-0 doesn’t
mean we can relax. It is a warning for the later rounds”.
Andrés Iniesta:
“At the end of the day we are in the semi finals, which is what we wanted. We have to
celebrate the fact we’re into the semi finals”.
“We are one step away from the final. In recent years we have only made it to the door,
and I’m hoping it will be third time lucky”.
José Manuel Pinto:
“These things make us stronger. It’s when things get complicated that the team
has to prove it’s worth”.
“Callejón’s goal came from a strange series of rebounds. The first goal was bad
luck, because when the shot hit Puyol it was like it had been poisoned”.
“It’s the kind of game that matures us. That’s when a team really becomes
strong”.
Gerard Piqué:
“We relaxed a bit when it went to 3-0. Espanyol played well, they are a dignified rival
and we found it hard”.
“I’ll always remember that goal”
“It was a test. We can’t win every game 5-0.
Today was one of those days when we had to suffer to win, but we managed to hold onto the
lead”.
“Ten out of ten to the fans. They were on our side”.
Dani Alves:
“We knew it would be a difficult game. We gained an advantage and they were lucky and
got back into the game. But we got what we wanted in the end”.
“People are used to seeing us win by many and sometimes when it’s a closer affair
they get mad”.
“I have to keep working to do things for the team. That is what’s most
important”.
Leo Messi:
“It was hard at the end but we managed to deal with it”.
“I feel fine. We are all feeling the effects of a tough month with so little rest. But
when things are going well, winning is much easier”.
“The crowd was amazing. Even in difficult moments, they get behind us”.
“I am happy that we won and happy that we are in the semi finals”.
