Carles Puyol has recovered from his leg injury and will be able to turn out in the Sporting Gijon game. All available players will be on hand for the fixture.
The good news to come out of this Saturday morning’s training behind closed doors at the
Ciudad Deportiva Joan Gamper sports complex is that club captain Carles Puyol has been given the
green light by club doctors after recovering from a knock he picked up against Espanyol. That means
Guardiola can call on a full squad with the exceptions of Milito, who is still sidelined with
injury, and Márquez and Piqué, who are suspended.
The Catalan central defender didn’t train with his team-mates but instead did special
work in the gym.
Pre-match hotel
As is becoming the norm before Camp Nou fixtures, Barça will train on the
day of the game at the ground and Pep Guardiola will announce the squad shortly before the match
begins. This time, however, after training the team will have lunch and remain together at the NH
Constanza Hotel.
