A historic streak

Anna Segura

The draw with Betis marked the end Barça’s spectacular run of nine consecutive away wins. Guardiola’s side have set an extraordinary record with their best ever winning streak on the road.

The away win at Villarreal ( 1-2 ) was the one in which Barça beat their previous best of seven consecutive wins away from the Camp Nou. Whether home or away, Barcelona have been on devastating form this year, and the draw at the Ruiz de Lopera was only the second time this season that they haven’t taken all three points from an away trip.

Gijón start

Espanyol, Athletic Bilbao, Malaga and Recreativo Huelva were the next to surrender to Barça at their home stadiums.

Hard trips

There were further wins to come against Osasuna at the Reyno de Navarra and Racing Santander at the Nuevo Sardinero.

25 for and 7 against

The away wins produced an amazing number of goals for Barça. As visitors they scored 25 goals in these games and only leaked 7. Barça netted an average of 2.7 goals a game.
A historic streak
22 games unbeaten
Despite the draw with Betis, Barça still maintain their impressive unbeaten run. Since losing on the opening day to Numancia at Los Pajaritos, they have gone on to go 22 matches without defeat.
