The last time Barça lost two games in a row while League leaders was in the 2005/06 season. The team went on to win both the League and the Champions League.
On 5 February 2006, after 14 wins on the spin, Barça had 52 points and a
lead of 12 over Valencia in second place and 13 over Madrid in third. Defeats against Atlético
(1-3) and at Mestalla (1-0) meant that lead was cut by 6 points in just a fortnight.
Unlike the 2005/06 season, when Zaragoza knocked Barça out of the Cup in the quarter finals, this term the team is still alive in the competition. On Wednesday at the ONO Estadi they will be looking to book their place in the final.
