Given the importance of Wednesday’s game, the coaching staff have decided to group the squad together from Tuesday. They will gather in Vallvidrera, at the foot of Tibidabo, in what will be a new venue for the club: Hotel La Florida.
The Barça squad will be spending the time before Wednesday night’s Champions League second
round return leg at the Camp Nou against Olympique Lyon together at the Gran Hotel La Florida in
Barcelona. Josep Guardiola and his coaching staff have decided the whole squad will be moving to
the hotel from Tuesday morning.
Away from pressure
Normally when the team has done
this kind of thing, they have opted for a more centrally located hotel. But this time a hotel on
the outskirts has been selected, in order for the players to be able to relax more easily as they
turn their minds to such a crunch game, with a quarter final berth at stake.
Making plans
On Tuesday, the group will first train in the Camp Nou stadium, and then around 18.00 will be
transferred to the hotel, where they will stay the night.
On the day of the match, the squad will leave the hotel bright and early and make their way
back to the Camp Nou, where they have further training scheduled for 12.15. They will then return
to the hotel, where they will rest until going back to the stadium in the evening for the match
itself.

Privileged location
This is the first time Barça has used this hotel, with is located 500 meters above the city and
offers some stunning views of the Mediterranean and the Pyrenees, as well as the city skyline. With
only 70 rooms and suites, it guarantees the kind of tranquillity and privacy the players need
before such a big game on Wednesday. The hotel also has a luxurious ‘Zen Zone Spa'.
