With his two strikes against Malaga, Samuel Eto'o has not only gone further out in front at the top of the goal scorer table in Spain but is also leader in the Golden Ball and in fifth spot in the list of all-time Barça goal scorers.
In the League Eto’o has scored 25 goals, which makes
him top scorer for his club and in the League as a whole. He’s followed on 19 by teammate
Lionel Messi, Valencia’s David Villa and Atlético Madrid’s Diego Forlán.
Samuel Eto'o is also top scorer in Europe with his two
strikes against Malaga pushing him to the front of the battle for the Golden Boot, awarded to
Europe’s top goal scorer each season.
Eto'o’s two strikes on Sunday make it 123 for him in a
Barça shirt, putting him ahead of Carles Rexach and Patrick Kluivert on 122 in the all-time goal
scorers’ list for FC Barcelona. The Cameroon striker is now in fifth spot just one goal
behind Mariano Martín in fourth. César (235), Kubala (196) and Rivaldo (130) are in the top three
places.
