More points than last season
Anna Segura
The win against Malaga means that Barça now has 69 points, more than the total number the side achieved last season. Plus the six strikes on Sunday takes the goals for column in the League up to the spectacular figure of 84.
In less than a year the position of the first team has changed radically. You just need to look at
the figures to see how things have been turned around from last season when the side finished third
in the League.
Better than last year
The three points picked up against Malaga mean that Josep
Guardiola’s Barça now has 69, two more than the number the side got last season. In addition
there are still ten games to go, and another thirty possible points to be played for, before the
end of the League campaign.
Five points more than in 2005/06
After the 28th round of games, the team has five points more at this
stage of the season than the Barça side who last won the League in 2005/06. In that campaign
Rijkaard’s men won the title with 82 points, 12 more than second-placed Real Madrid.
Three goals a game
To a great extent the ability of Guardiola’s side to win games is based on a powerful
attack, which has found the net on 84 occasions so far this season to average three goals a game.
