Guardiola regains six of his internationals
Marc Guillén / Anna Segura
Henry, Gudjohnsen, Sergio Busquets, Bojan, Piqué and Xavi are back in training with the senior squad after their international commitments. Hleb, Alves, Messi and Cáceres will join the squad on Friday.
Now that the international break is over, Guardiola has recovered a large part of the group of
internationals missing over the last few days. Henry, Gudjohnsen, Sergio Busquets, Bojan, Piqué and
Xavi were all present for training on Thursday afternoon.
A light session
As usual, the returning internationals were treated to a light session.
Henry, Gudjohnsen, Sergio Busquets and Bojan exercised on the pitch with the rest of the team while
Piqué and Xavi exercised in the gym.
Four to come
Guardiola now has most of the players he needs to prepare for
Saturday’s league match against Valladolid. Alves, Messi and Cáceres, who played with their
countries in the early hours of Wednesday night/Thursday morning, as well as Hleb, who played for
Belarus in Kazakhstan, are still to arrive.
Training in the rain
The training session was held at a rain-soaked Joan Gamper sports centre. Apart from the
senior players, three youngsters from the youth team were also involved: Bolaños, Jonathan dos
Santos and Illie. Touré, Abidal and Iniesta, who are all recovering from injury, worked out with
the rest of the group for the first part of the session.
