Pep Guardiola has named his 18-man squad for the trip to face Real Valladolid and Carles Puyol and Andrés Iniesta are included after both players were given the green light top lay on Friday.
Every player available has been named on the list while the injured quartet of Éric Abidal, Gaby
Milito, Touré Yaya and Aliaksandr Hleb are all left out. Albert Jorquera and Víctor Sánchez had
been rested.
Everyone except Alves
On Friday, Guardiola was able to work with virtually all
his players with only Daniel Alves arriving back in the afternoon following his time with the
Brazilian national team. Hleb, Lionel Messi and Martín Cáceres were the latest trio of players to
return to action and they trained.
Puyol and Iniesta in
Puyol was told that he could play again after recovering
from an injury to a toe on his left foot during the game against Athletic Club earlier this month.
Iniesta, who has been out for two weeks, was also told that he could resume playing and both
players have been named in the squad to go to the Nuevo Zorilla.
Hleb left out as a precaution
Hleb returned from international duty with a knock and told the clubs medics after training
that he felt some pain in the hamstring in his right leg. Tests did not show any damage, but he was
left out of the squad as a precaution.
The squad
