No rest for players

The players were back on the training ground on Thursday morning after the previous night’s victory against Sevilla. The next match is away to Valencia on Saturday so the team has only two days to prepare.
Speaking to reporters at the post match press conference, Josep Guardiola stressed the importance
of retaining “a competitive tone” given the glut of key matches in all three
competitions over the coming days. “We can’t stop now. We can’t believe anything
because it’s too good”.
Two days to prepare Valencia clash
The win against Sevilla is now history and the players now have to focus on the next match
against Valencia. This morning (Thursday) the players went through their paces behind closed doors
at the Joan Gamper sports complex in what was the first of only two training sessions before the
players travel to Valencia on Saturday morning.
Cáceres with laryngitis
The entire squad was available for training apart from long term injury victim Milito and
Cáceres, who missed training due to the laryngitis that kept him out of contention for the Sevilla
game. Also taking part were Longás, Rueda and Córcoles from Barça Atlètic
No pause until Wednesday
Whatever the result in the Mestalla stadium, the players will report for training on Sunday
to start preparing Tuesday’s Champions League match. There will be further sessions on Monday
and on Tuesday morning. Once again Guardiola will have little time to work with his players.
