Dani Alves: “We will fight until the end”

All roads may lead to Rome, but Brazilian Dani Alves knows that Barça “will have to suffer” if they want to get there. But he also knows that Chelsea “will need to put sweat on their shirts if they want to get through the round”.
The Barça right back was not in the least bit surprised by Chelsea’s football. “They
play defensively, it’s characteristic of the way they do things” and added that
“they came to draw and stop us from winning by several goals.” Now, the return leg is
going to be “very interesting … we have to go to London with all the enthusiasm we have
and just play our game”.
The Barça player also commented on the game with Madrid on Saturday, saying “I’m
convinced it’ll be a very difficult game” but adding that “we have to go to the
Bernabéu and treat it like any other game.” But most importantly, Alves made it clear that
“we will fight until the end”.
The following are some of the other after match comments made by the Barça players:
Xavi
“They practically only came to defend and they played defensively. We dominated them,
we put on pressure up front, and we played football”.
“This was the same old Barça, playing with pace, but we didn’t manage to get any
goals”.
“The return leg at Stamford Bridge is where it will all be decided”.
“Unfortunately we have lost two good footballers”.
“I like to be optimistic, I always have been”.
“It is a shame that the referees let them get away with the game they played, some of
the things they did were scandalous”.
“The result wasn’t fair, and if any team could have won that, it was us”.
Touré Yaya
“It is a difficult game because Chelsea are a very strong team, but there are 90
minutes left to play”.
“It was scandalous because the referee let them get away with a lot of fouls, but
that’s football, and we have to go out to win”.
“Now the important game is against Madrid”.
“Barça are not afraid of Madrid and we are going there in a confident mood”.
“We know it won’t be easy on Saturday, but it’ll be a good game”.
Piqué
“Everybody saw the referee’s decisions, and there is nothing we can do about
that. Just concentrate on Saturday’s game”.
“We dominated the game and the statistics show that: 69%”.
“0-0 is a great result”.
“We needed be afraid of anything”.
“Márquez and Puyol are two very important players for the team”.
Eto’o
“Whatever happens at the Bernabéu, we’ll, keep fighting on”.
“We want to take the title away from Madrid, who are the champions”.
“We have no need to worry because we are top and it is them that are under
pressure”.
