Txiki: "A day to enjoy"

Txiki Begiristain could not hide his delight the day after FC Barcelona's victory against Real Madrid in the Santiago Bernabéu, but was keen to ensure that the squad kept their feet on the ground.
The Blaugrana technical secretary admitted that he could not have dreamed that the Catalan outfit
would record such a monumental performance. "The result was unforeseeable, but the team has had
great confidence," he added.
Winning the league
"One has to applaud the coaching staff and the players equally for how the team is playing
and how they played on Saturday," Begiristain continued. "But the league has not yet been one and
that is clear to see, but we have to consider all the good work that the team has done this term.
We have to remain serious and to recognise that the title is not yet won."
Messi well positioned
Reflecting on the win against Madrid, Begiristain stated:
"To win 2-6 everything has to work correctly. The intelligence of the three midfielders, the
capacity to make a difference that Thierry Henry, but I think it was Messi's position in between
midfield and defence that completely unbalance things.
"I hope that we can talk about having sealed the league in the Bernabéu because it is the
best place for us to have done that."
Important games
Looking ahead to the game in midweek against Chelsea, Begiristain said: "If we score then we
have a good chance of reaching the final. Then we must prepare for the game against Villarreal
where we can begin to believe that we have the league title close to hand and then three days after
that we have the Copa del Rey final. There is pride, appreciation and, above all good, judgement.
