Eto’o: “Winning the League is just a matter of time”
www.fcbarcelona.cat
Eto’o says that Barça is already just about League champion and that even though everyone would have liked to have celebrated the title at Camp Nou, winning it at Mallorca would be special for him.
Samuel Eto’o also noted that “we could be champions before we play” against
Mallorca on Sunday depending on what Madrid do. He said the draw with Vila-real wasn’t that
important and that “the worst news is Iniesta’s injury” and that after tests
today “we hope we’ll have him back for Rome”.
Below are the post-match comments of Barça’s players:
Keita
“Both players and fans wanted to win today. It was really important and we wanted to
win to celebrate the League title at Camp Nou”
“We’re having a really good season and we’re almost champions”
“The next match is really important. On Wednesday we have the Cup Final against Bilbao
and we hope to win that”
“Abidal and Iniesta are key players so the next game will be tough as they won’t
be with us. Plus Márquez and Henry are also out”
“Referees might make mistakes but we’re not going to say anything”
“Eto’o is entitled to feel pleased as he’s got a great personal goal
tally”
Piqué
“It’s tough for the fans but it’s another point ahead
of Madrid”
“We have to win on Wednesday. It’ll be our first piece of silverware and so
we’re really up for it”
“Today we wanted to win the League but in the end it didn’t happen”
“As long as we win it, today doesn’t matter. We’ll play the next match as
if nothing had happened”
“The Cup and the League are separate things. The players are fine and there’ll be
no problems on Wednesday”
